A gathering place for families, regulars, and anyone who believes in the power of community and quality.
The things our regulars come back for, week after week. Fresh, local, and made with care.
We partner with six local farms within 50 miles of Austin to bring you seasonal vegetables, fruits, and herbs picked at peak freshness. No waxed apples or imported substitutes β just honest, sun-ripened goodness you can taste.
From $1.50 / lbBaked fresh every Tuesday and Friday morning by Maria herself using a sourdough starter that's been in the family for 12 years. Our classic wheat loaf, jalapeΓ±o-cheddar round, and honey oat roll sell out by noon β so come early!
From $6.00 / loafFrom hand-thrown pottery and beeswax candles to woven wall hangings and painted greeting cards, our rotating artist shelf showcases the talent that makes Austin special. Every item is made by hand, right here in our city.
From $12.00Lopez's Little Market opened its doors in March 2018 when Maria Lopez, a former middle school teacher and lifelong Austin resident, decided the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood needed more than a convenience store. She signed a lease on a 900-square-foot corner building, painted the walls a warm wheat gold, and stocked the shelves with vegetables from her cousin Ernesto's farm in Bastrop.
Word spread fast. Within six months, Maria was working alongside her sister Claudia and her neighbor James Okafor, who manages the artisan goods section with an infectious enthusiasm for local makers. Together, they've built a space where regulars are greeted by name and first-timers leave with a sense that they've found something special.
Our mission has always been simple: connect the people who grow and make things in Central Texas with the families who want to eat well and live beautifully. Every product on our shelves was chosen because we believe in the person who made it and because we'd proudly serve it at our own kitchen tables.
We value honesty, neighborhood roots, and the kind of quality that only comes from someone who cares. We'll never carry something just because it sells β only because it's genuinely good. That's the Lopez's promise, and we've kept it every single day since we opened.

Our regulars are the heart of this place. Here's what they have to say.
"I've been coming to Lopez's every Saturday morning for two years and it genuinely feels like a ritual now. Maria always remembers that I like the jalapeΓ±o-cheddar bread and sets one aside for me if I text ahead. The produce is so fresh β I bought a tomato here once and I genuinely couldn't go back to grocery-store tomatoes after that. It sounds dramatic, but it's true."

"My kids actually ask to go to the market on the weekends, which says everything. They love seeing what's new on the artist shelf, and my daughter saved up her allowance to buy one of Dana's little ceramic mugs. James is fantastic β he introduced us to the beeswax candles and now they're the only ones we buy. This is what a neighborhood store is supposed to be."

"I moved to Austin from Chicago a year ago and honestly didn't expect to find something this charming in a city this size. Lopez's Little Market made my new neighborhood feel like home within the first week. The honey oat rolls are absolutely unreal β I've eaten them for dinner more times than I'm willing to admit. Maria and Claudia are the kindest people, and I love that every dollar I spend there stays in Austin."
